ODDS on COME BETS - LetÆs move on to taking odds on our COME bets. LetÆs say the point is 9. We have a COME bet of $2 on the 4. We put our money in the come area and in a loud clear voice we tell the dealer "taking odds on the 4". The dealer will place your $2 on the 4 and offset it to let him know that you have odds. LetÆs make another COME bet. Place your money in the come area directly in front of you and the shooter rolls as 5. The dealer will take your $2 and put it on the 5 in the same position where you are standing just like before. To take odds on the 5, we put $2 in the come area just in front of us and tell the dealer odds on the 5. The dealer offsets your odds bet the same way as on the 4. Now weÆll make one more COME bet and the shooter rolls a 6. This time we have to put $5 in the come area and tell the dealer "odds on the 6".
REMEMBER, the reason we canÆt put $2 on the six is because the odds are 6 to 5 and they canÆt pay 6 to 5 on $2 and weÆre only covering the 4, 5 and 6 because the 4 and 10s are the same, the 5 and 9s are the same and the 6 and 8s are the same. What we now have is a PASS LINE bet on the 9 and three COME bets with odds; the 4, the 5 and the 6. If the shooter rolls a 4 before a 7, we win this bet; a 5 before a 7 and we win this bet and a 6 before a 7 wins this bet. If a 7 rolls, we lose all of our bets. So letÆs say the shooter rolls a 4. The dealer would take our money down to the 4 and pay us even money on our flat bet and 2 to 1 on our odds just like the PASS LINE to odds.
REMEMBER to pick up your money. The shooter rolls a 5. The dealer takes our money down to the 5 and pays us even money on our flat bed and 3 to 2 on our odds just like the PASS LINE. The next roll is a 6. The dealer takes our money off the 6 and pays us $2 on our flat bet and $6 for our $5 odds just like the PASS LINE. LetÆs put all of our COME bets back. The point is 9. If the shooter were to make a 9 on the next roll, the PASS LINE would get paid and the dealer would move the marker to the off position in the donÆt come area. The next roll is a come-out roll and all COME bet odds are off. They donÆt work. LetÆs say the shooter throws a 7, hereÆs what would happen. The dealer would give you back your odds on all the COME bets and you would lose your flat bet. So if you have a COME bet with odds on the come out roll, the odds are off and the flat bet is still in action. And youÆll notice, that the dealer always pays you in the COME area on COME bets. The reason is, the dealer always pays you where the bet originated.
